From Keflavík Airport Straight to Your Hotel Anywhere in Iceland

Not everyone flying into Keflavík Airport is going to Reykjavík. Country hotels on the Golden Circle and the South Coast, lodges in the West and guesthouses in the north are some of the best places to stay in Iceland, and the airport bus does not go there.

Turning the transfer into a first sightseeing day

A long transfer does not have to be just a drive. On the way to the South Coast you pass Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss; on the way to the Golden Circle you can stop at Þingvellir or Kerið crater; on the way to Snæfellsnes, Borgarnes is a good lunch stop. Tell us when you book which stops you would like and we agree the extra time and price with you in advance.

Why a direct transfer instead of a bus and a rental car

• No connections: the airport bus goes to Reykjavík only. Reaching a country hotel by public transport can take most of a day.
• No driving after a night flight: you can sleep in the car.

Going north: transfer or domestic flight?

For Akureyri and the north, a direct transfer of around five hours is a comfortable option, especially for a group or a family, and you can stop at Hvítserkur or other sights on the way. Lots of luggage, skis or golf bags?

Long trips often mean big luggage. Tell us how many large suitcases you have when you book: the Tesla takes up to three large suitcases and the van up to seven. Tips for long transfers

• Add your flight number so your driver follows any delay.
• Tell your hotel your expected arrival time, especially for late arrivals in the countryside where reception may close early.
• Bring snacks and water for drives of three hours or more, or plan a stop for a meal.
• In winter, allow extra time and keep warm layers in the car with you.
• For your departure, book the return the same way and arrive at the airport about two and a half to three hours before your flight.
